I was always impressed by Jerry's leadership and project management skills when I worked with him at Teleflora. He was autonomous in establishing and streamlining policies, processes, and performance in support of continuous improvement across the website and in the delivery of assets from other departments. He was truly an evangelist who established standards in the company.

He was my go-to person for any SEO technical improvements I want implemented. He was also very proactive and always consulted me when another department wanted to make website changes to make sure that the changes didn't negatively impact my SEO tactics. His solid work ethic and attention to detail in documenting processes made him a great asset not only to me as the SEO Manager but to the entire company. I highly recommend Jerry.

Jerry is a unicorn. He has all the best traits you'd want in a developer:

      - Strong technical foundation, frontend and backend.
      - Open to learning and embracing new technologies.
      - Adaptable and able to find a concise path to the right solution.
      - Not afraid to take initiative and willing to help others.
      - Proactively finds problems and solutions before they become an issue.

Best of all, he's easy to talk to and bounce ideas off of. He helped drive so many projects at Teleflora and was a pleasure to work with.

I've worked with Jerry at both the Torrance Daily Breeze and LA.com. Jerry is a well rounded developer with great communication skills. He has both the ability to effectively manage a technical team and bring understanding and support for a executive team.

On several projects we worked on, he was able to build sites and businesses from the ground up through his unique problem solving and dedication. Jerry is the type of individual who can help clear out any fog from the technical side, and can deliver answers and results by presenting the options.

I Be Me

  • J.A.C.

    In The Beginning

My first web development job was doing HTML coding for an interactive agency in Torrance, CA. The original plan back then was to work in a creative field as a designer, but as plans often do, they didn't go as expected. Through no conscious desire of my own, not even as a "what if," the design trajectory I had laid out for myself propelled me into the world of web development where I quickly became consumed by it...and that was a good thing.

Arthur Ashe's quote, "Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." is how I began. In the late 90's there were no web development degrees, no developer boot camps, and no online training courses. Internet access was not easy to come by but every chance there was I spent web surfing, researching, self-training and coding.

A quote by Jason Calacanis I feel also fits my experience quite nicely.

You have to have a big vision and take very small steps to get there. You have to be humble as you execute but visionary and gigantic in terms of your aspiration. In the Internet industry, it's not about grand innovation, it's about a lot of little innovations: every day, every week, every month, making something a little bit better.

This has been my journey and what still excites me about what I do is that as I try to work on small innovations every day, week and month to make what I'm working on just a little better, that same process is making me just a little better as well.
